There are ants ants ants ants, trying on the pants in the store, in the store

BLEH! Okay, so the ants are NOT trying on the pants in the store, but they ARE invading our basement!

We have never had ants in the house before, but we noticed some outside near the back door, so Christian sprinkled some ant killer and we have TICKED them off!! They scaled a full assault on the mini Nutter Butters we left downstairs. When Christian and I went downstairs the other night, we found maybe 100 or so in and around the package. We made short work of them by grabbing the vaccumm and sucking up those little scavenger ants. Then Christian took our spider trap and put some peanut butter on it to trick those nasty little things into getting stuck and dying a horrible death of stickiness. We are winning the war! Every day we find some more on the trap. We are also going to bug bomb the basement before we leave the the holiday.

The worst part is, I keep feeling like ants are crawling on me. Nasty little insects!

EW! I'm totally reminded of the huge human eating ants in the new Indiana Jones movie....illstricken!
I love the peanut butter idea....

Karen-
Okay so something we learned not to long ago that might help and has completely taken care of our ant problems - put out corn meal. The ants take it back to the queen and then the queen eats it along with all the rest of the ants and the ants can not digest the corn meal so it kills them! No more reproducing for them and problem solved!

Hope this helps - Catherine Taylor

Ah, your so funny! But ants, are not so funny. My mom told me that if you draw a cirle around the ants in white chalk, that they will not cross the line and be stuck... don't really know how this helps, but it is funny to watch!

Oh, those sticky traps are the best, aren't they?! Except when you touch them with your own finger and then freak out and fling it off and it sticks to your nice couch and you tear if off quickly and it pulls couch fibers off and leaves a "faded" patch on your furniture...that could happen, you know...but I DON'T KNOW, huh uh, no way, not me. I'm glad you're winning the war with the dang ants!
